Maplewood, NJ – GAS Gallery And Studio is proud to announce its association with Kevin Lynn of The Wine Sisterhood and Canopy Management to hold the DEEP PURPLE Art Auction during the gallery’s presentation of THE INTERSECTION OF ART AND WINE Exhibit, hosted by COOLVINES Westfield, now on view May 24 – July 14, 2012.
The featured item(s) for sale is a signed, editioned ( /1000 ) poster-sized print of the label created by famed wine industry illustrator, cartoonist and graphic artist Bob Johnson for this Lodi Zinfandel California 2007 wine. The label and artwork is a tribute to the psychedelic poster art of the 1960’s, and is reminiscent of the artwork created by the The Big Five artists of “The Great Poster Wave” of the mid-sixties, namely Rick Griffin, Alton Kelley, Victor Moscoso, Stanley Mouse and Wes Wilson.
The DEEP PURPLE Art Auction will benefit the nonprofit organization ARTS UNBOUND, located in Orange, NJ. The mission of Arts Unbound is to provide arts education, skills building and a variety of vocational opportunities in the visual arts to youth and adults with mental, developmental and physical disabilities. Arts Unbound was founded in 2000 and incorporated in 2003 as a 501c3 nonprofit.
The DEEP PURPLE Art Auction is open to the public and will take place online through July 14.
All bids will be reviewed by the DEEP PURPLE Auction Committee, and the winner(s) will be notified by email.
